Sailing holiday albums; Yérakas

Yérakas is a gem of a place...almost a hidden world.

A glorious quiet spot; most people fall in love with Yérakas the moment the arrive. It’s a magical spot.

Yérakas / Ieraka is a gem of a place...almost a hidden world. It is very easy to sail straight past even when you’re looking for the entrance and this makes the place all the more special as few visit.

The village is nothing but a line of houses built between the small quayside and rocky sides of what is described as; ‘the only fjord in Greece’...although the word ‘fjord’ does conjure-up images of surrounding hills and cliffs which Yérakas can’t quite match.

A beautiful quiet spot...but don’t tell anyone; we don’t want to spoil Yérakas!

Finding Yérakas

Yerakas is north of Monemvasia on the eastern Peloponnese coast. The entrance to the ‘fjord’ can be found at 36° 47’.44N 23° 05’.70E (WGS84).
