The Sun Odyssey 469 is a spacious four-cabin yacht providing comfortable accommodation for two or three families or a group of 8 adults. Accommodation includes eight permanent berths in four double-berth cabins, each with its own en-suite ‘heads’. The main cabin can also provide two additional berths if required although we do not recommend these other than for children. SailingThe Sun Odyssey 469 can be managed by a crew of two, although at 46’ a third or fourth set of hands always makes mooring and other tasks simpler and shares the load. Like all Jeanneau yachts she sails well providing entertaining, yet safe and stable sailing as you would expect from a large cruising yacht. The 469 is a good passage-maker where her longer waterline helps her speed. EquipmentThe Greek Sails Sun Odyssey 469 yachts are equipped with twin-wheel steering, rolling genoa and an in-mast reefing mainsail. As with all in-mast yachts, reefing is achieved by controlling how much mainsail is unfurled. There is an inflatable dinghy with outboard to help you get ashore if you anchor-off or simply to allow you to explore. Instrumentation includes two binnacle compasses, Raymarine i70 multi-display instrument and a Raymarine A75 multifunction chart plotter at the port helm, plus a binnacle compass, i70 and A75 instruments as well as the autopilot control at the starboard helm. The 469 is also equipped with a Raymarine P70 inboard (built-in) autopilot with a DSC VHF radio & EPIRB in the main saloon. The two A75 chart plotters each provide full GPS information. Charts and pilot guides are provided. The yacht is equipped with a CD/radio player with speakers in the main cabin and external speakers in the cockpit, allowing you to listen to music as you sail. AccommodationThe Sun Odyssey 469 offers a main saloon, four cabins and four toilet/shower rooms (‘heads’ in sailing talk), each with hot water and toilet holding tank. Each heads includes a shower and toilet/basin. Each cabin has a double berth giving eight berths, plus the main saloon settee & table are convertible to give another large double berth although we do not recommend these other than for children. Each cabin has a hanging wardrobe. The galley includes a double sink, top-entry fridge, twin-burner cooker with oven and plenty of storage both behind the worktop & cooker and below the sinks. Outside the cockpit has teak lazerette seats and a large fixed cockpit table covered by a bimini. There are also external loudspeakers in the cockpit connected to the CD/radio. Internal layoutThe Sun Odyssey 469 provides a main saloon with each of the four sleeping cabins having its own heads. There is a chart table to port in front of the heads with control panel, GPS and VHF radio and CD/radio player. The main saloon settee and table can convert into an additional large double berth (although this is only suitable for children). Key information
