Not everybody wants to spend their entire hard-earned summer holiday sailing. For a family or group where people have different desires, an ideal solution is a ‘Sail & Stay’ holiday where you mix a week on Poros or a nearby island with a week’s sailing.

Of course, the Greek Sails yacht charter base in Poros is just south of Athens and so even without a ‘formal’ Sail & Stay holiday, you can simply spend a few days sightseeing in Athens either before or after your yacht charter with us.

Hotel, apartment or villa; the choice is yours!

You can opt to stay in a hotel, apartment or villa and combine this with any sailing holiday.

While staying on Poros or another island in the vicinity, you can simply laze around, swim and in general relax, or if you so desire, go on excursions around some of the stunning archaeological and other sites that litter the Peloponnese; Epidavros, Mycenae and the Palamidi citadel being just three. We are happy to help you organize such excursions.

Combine with shore-based RYA theory sail training

Our ‘Sail & Stay’ holidays can be ideal if you wish to complete any of the RYA theory/shore-based sail training courses we run. You can stay ashore locally while you complete maybe your RYA Day Skipper theory course and then use a second week to complete the RYA Day Skipper practical course.

For the sailing component of your holiday you may select any of our sailing holiday options; skippered, bareboat, flotilla or sailing course, whichever suits you best and do it in whichever sailing yacht you desire. You can even combine a shore stay with completion of a sail training theory course.
