On a flotilla yacht charter you sail separately in your own chartered yacht, but meet-up with the other yachts in the flotilla each evening at an agreed location. You have the benefit of an experienced crew on the flotilla lead boat who are there to help you throughout your holiday; each skipper in the flotilla can benefit from their local knowledge of weather and wind, harbours and eating places and should there be any problems on passage, help is close at hand. This therefore increases safety for all and bestows a feeling of security that makes the sailing holiday cruise more relaxing, whatever the season. Flotilla sailing holidays are ideal for:
Greek Sails’ flotilla sailing routes
A flotilla sailing holiday must be exactly what it says on the tin - a holiday! In truth, if our clients just wish to sail all day, they would do better to select a bareboat yacht charter where they can sail as much, or as little, as the wish. For a perfect flotilla sailing holiday, Greek Sails has planned three sailing routes; one north and two south of Poros, which combine all the elements of a fulfilling flotilla sailing holiday. Each route allows for daily lunchtime/mid-day swimming stops; distances are rarely more than fifteen miles and each destination has an individual charm. The Saronic Gulf flotilla sailing routeView Saronic Gulf sailing area in a larger map On our northern flotilla sailing route into the Saronic Gulf you can find the peace and intimacy of the small fishing villages of Vathi and Perdika; the tranquil tree-lined bays of the little-inhabited island of Angistri; the splendour of the ancient theatre of Epidavros with its perfect acoustics and finally, the cosmopolitan port of Aegina, with easy access to the beautiful temple of Aphaia. The Argolic Gulf flotilla sailing routeView Argolic Gulf sailing area in a larger map The southern flotilla sailing route into the Argolic Gulf is likewise interesting and varied; the individually unique islands of Hydra and Spetses; the intimate harbours of Ermioni, Leonidhion and Astros on the mainland coast. And at the head of the gulf lies Navplio, elegant Venetian city, once capital of modern Greece and gateway to Agamemnon’s Mycenae. The East Peloponnese flotilla sailing route
The extended east Peloponnese flotilla sailing route takes two weeks, giveing time to visit additional places in the Argolic Gulf such as the tiny harbours of Sambatiki, Tyros and Vivari and then continues down the east coast of the Peloponnese visiting stunning locations such as majestic Kyparisi, the unlikely fjord of Yerakas and the wonder of the monolithic rock of Monemvasia; known as the ‘Gibraltar of the East’. A great variety of fascinating destinations all within a safe and protected sailing area set in a grandiose setting; the perfect holiday recipe! |
