Elan Impression 434 sailing yacht

The Elan Impression 434 is a large cruising yacht providing spacious and comfortable accommodation for two families or group of 6 to 8 adults. Accommodation is in four cabins providing eight permanent berths with two ‘heads’. The main cabin can also provide two additional berths.

Sailing

Elan yachts have a good reputation for their sailing capabilities and although designated ‘a cruiser’, the 434 is no slouch and is easily capable of achieving good passage times being both stiff and stable at sea.

Like many modern yachts the 434 can be sailed by a couple with her in-mast furling main and furling headsail making sail work simple, although at 43’ a larger crew always makes mooring and other tasks simpler.

Equipment

The Elan Impression 434 yacht is equipped with twin-wheel steering, rolling genoa and in-mast furling mainsail.

There is an inflatable dinghy with outboard to help you get ashore if you anchor-off or simply to allow you to explore.

Instrumentation includes binnacle compass and three ST60 instruments in the cockpit and a Raymarine RC435 chart plotter at the navigation desk in the cabin.

The 434 is also equipped with a Raymarine inboard (built-in) ST6002 autopilot, a GPS, DSC VHF radio & EPIRB by the chart table. Charts and pilot guides are provided.

The yacht is equipped CD/radio player with speakers in the main cabin and external speakers in the cockpit, allowing you to listen to music as you sail.

Accommodation

The Elan Impression 434 offers a main saloon, four cabins and two toilet/shower rooms (‘heads’ in sailing talk), each with hot water and toilet plus a shared holding tank. The main cabin heads includes a separate shower and toilet/basin area separated by a shower screen.

The forepeak and two rear cabins each have a double berth giving six berths, plus the forward port cabin provides twin bunks giving a total of eight berths. The main saloon settee & table are also convertible to give another large double berth. All four cabins have a hanging wardrobe.

The galley includes a double sink, and front and separate top-entry fridge (two fridges), three-burner cooker with oven and plenty of storage both behind the worktop & cooker and below the sinks. There is also an ice box in the cockpit table.

Outside the cockpit has teak lazerette seats and cockpit sole with a large fixed cockpit table, all covered by a bimini tent. There are also external loudspeakers in the cockpit connected to the CD/radio.

Internal layout

The Elan Impression 434 provides a main saloon with heads & shower to starboard and galley to port to the companionway. There is a second heads & shower forward, accessible from the short corridor leading from the main saloon to the forepeak and forward port cabins.

There is a chart table to port in front of the heads with control panel, GPS and VHF radio and CD/radio player. The main saloon settee and table can convert into an additional large double berth.
